Dana Simon welcomes middle and high school students participating in Temple University’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) summer camps on July 29, 2019. This year, the summer camps were entirely virtual and provided students with more digitally-focused engineering and learning experiences. Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) recently collaborated with Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command in coordination with the Naval Oceanographic Office’s Fleet Survey Team, and Klein Marine to conduct a live Advanced Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) event at NSWC PCD. Navy ships, similar to the one pictured may get some help with corrosion issues. NSWC PHD’s Lead Materials Engineer Armen Kvryan along with PHD’s Fathomwerx Lab, Matter Labs and Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division are hosting a Rust-A-Thon competition to help find coatings that can mitigate and control corrosion on Navy ships.
