NSWC Crane employee builds civilian career from Naval internship program
February 13, 2019 — When Christina Bizzell-Redden was a Senior in college in North Carolina, she wasn’t sure where her career would take her. In search of job opportunities, she attended a local career fair. “I noticed there was a booth for a Navy intern program,” says Bizzell-Redden. “Initially, I wasn’t sure I’d be interested in working for the Navy, or what that would be like. NSWC Crane demonstrates continued support for NASA energy storage life cycle testing for more than 60 years
February 11, 2019 — Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) has supported National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and other programs for more than 60 years in energy storage life cycle testing. Currently, NSWC Crane is conducting tests for the NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) International Space Station (ISS) Lithium-ion Program, which replaces outdated units to allow longer energy storage for ISS missions. January 30, 2019 — Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) was recognized before an international audience for its contributions to the electronics industry with the IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries Peter Sarmanian Corporate Recognition Award. The award was presented to NSWC Crane representatives at the annual IPC APEX EXPO 2019 in San Diego, California on January 29. IPC is an industry association with more than 4,800 members across the globe. IPC represents many segments of the electronics industry, including design, printed circuit board manufacturing, and electronics assembly and is a leading source for industry standards, training, market research, and more. NSWC Crane employee and reservist shares his rules for career-long success
January 23, 2019 — John Hamilton is a physicist and Branch Manager at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), but once a month, he drives hundreds of miles to Des Moines, Iowa to serve as an Officer in Charge of a Navy Reserve Unit. As a Branch Manager at NSWC Crane, Hamilton says his job is to remove obstacles that get in his team’s way. As Officer in Charge, he trains sailors so they are ready to deploy to a combat zone. Though these positions are different, they are centered around one of Hamilton’s core leadership beliefs: Taking care of people. ‘Taking care of people’ is one of his rules of success. ... MORE
