Commander René Martin
U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility & Japan Regional Maintenance Center
CDR René Martin is a native of New York and enlisted in the Navy in 2002. Upon graduation from Recruit Training Command, he successfully completed the Navy Nuclear Power training pipeline and a follow-on tour as a Junior Staff Instructor.
He reported to the United States Naval Academy in 2006 and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography.
CDR Martin reported onboard USS Vandegrift (FFG 48) and served as the Electrical Officer and Assistant Chief Engineer where he ultimately qualified Surface Warfare Officer.
Following his qualification tour, CDR Martin reported onboard USS Ardent (MCM 12) Crew Bulwark and served as the Weapons Officer and First Lieutenant.
In 2015, CDR Martin executed his Engineering Duty Option and reported to the Naval Postgraduate School where he earned his Master of Science in Applied Physics.
CDR Martin reported to Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 2017 and served as Dry Dock Coordinator and Assistant Project Superintendent for the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) Drydocking Planned Incremental Availability and ultimately qualified Engineering Duty Officer.
Following his shipyard tour, CDR Martin reported to United States Military Training Mission to Saudi Arabia and served as Maintenance and Engineering Advisor for Naval Forces Division Detachment Jubail. His advisory role supported day-to-day planning, operations, and execution of shipboard maintenance at Ship Repair Facility Jubail.
In 2021, CDR Martin reported to Supervisor of Shipbuilding Bath, Detachment San Diego as ESB/T-AO Program Manager Representative. He worked closely with PMS 385, PMS 325, and industry in delivering ESB 6, T-AO 206, T-AO 207, and T-AO 208 to the fleet.
CDR Martin currently serves as Deputy Waterfront Operations at Southwest Regional Maintenance Center overseeing Intermediate and Depot Level maintenance on 58 homeported vessels in Continuous Maintenance and Emergent Repair Availabilities.
CDR Martin is the Prospective Officer in Charge for U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center, Detachment Singapore and reports in December of 2025.
CDR Martin’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various other unit and service medals. CDR Martin’s family includes his wife Shelly and his two daughters, Paisley and Pearl.

レネ・マーティン中佐はニューヨーク州出身。2002年に米国海軍へ入隊し、新兵訓練部隊を卒業後、海軍原子力訓練課程を修了し、続くジュニアスタッフインストラクターとしての任務を無事に完了した。
2006年に米国海軍士官学校に入校、2010年に海洋学の理学士号を取得し卒業した。
マーティン中佐は、USSヴァンデグリフト（FFG 48）に配属され、電気士官及びアシスタント・チーフエンジニアとして従事し、最終的に水上戦士官としての資格を取得した。
資格取得任務に続き、マーティン中佐はUSSアーデント（MCM 12）のクルー・ブルワーク（交代制のクルー・システム）に配属され、兵器士官及び先任士官を歴任した。
2015年、マーティン中佐は技術士官となり、海軍大学院にて応用物理学の理学修士号を取得した。
2017年、マーティン中佐はノーフォーク海軍工廠に配属され、USSジョージ・H・W・ブッシュ（CVN 77）の定期入渠追加工期において、ドライドック・コーディネーター及びアシスタントプロジェクト・サプト補佐として従事、最終的に技術専任士官としての資格を取得した。
これらの海軍工廠での勤務後、マーティン中佐は在サウジアラビア米国軍事訓練派遣団に配属され、海軍部隊ジュバイル分所で整備・技術顧問として勤務した。その顧問としての役割は、ジュバイル艦船修理廠における艦船修理の日々の計画、運用、及び実施を支援するものであった。
2021年、マーティン中佐はメイン州バスに本部を置くSupervisor of Shipbuilding（艦船建造を統括する施設）のサンディエゴ分所に、ESB／T-AOプログラム・マネージャー代表として配属された。その際、PMS 385、PMS 325、及び産業界と密接に連携し、ESB 6、T-AO 206、T-AO 207、及びT-AO 208を艦隊に引き渡した。
マーティン中佐は現在、南西地区造修統括本部のデピュティー・ウォーターフロント・オペレーションズとして、継続的メンテナンス工期及び緊急修理工期において配備されている58隻の艦船に対する中間及びデポレベルの修理を監督している。
マーティン中佐は、米海軍艦船修理廠及び日本地区造修統括本部シンガポール分所の次期分所長として、2025年12月に着任した。
マーティン中佐が授与された勲章には、メリトリアスサービスメダル勲章（2度）、ジョイント・サービス・コメンデーション記章、海軍功労勲章（4度）、海軍／海兵隊任務完遂章（4度）、及びその他の様々な部隊褒章及び従軍記章が含まれる。マーティン中佐の家族は、妻のシェリー、そして2人の娘、ペイズリーとパールである。
