A Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) employee received the Department of the Navy (DoN)’s second highest honorary award. Thomas Dalheim, Crane’s Spectrum Warfare System Department Senior Scientific Technical Manager (SSTM) for Advanced Electronic Warfare (EW), was awarded the DoN Superior Civilian Service Award in recognition of his contributions as an Airborne Electronic Attack expert at NSWC Crane from 1999 to 2019.

IMAGE: DAHLGREN, Va. (Oct. 16, 2019) – The oldest and youngest Sailors attending the Navy's 244th anniversary celebration cut the birthday cake at Gray's Landing on the Potomac Restaurant. The Navy birthday cake-cutting ceremony is important to all Sailors, as it is an annual renewal of each Sailor's commitment to the Navy and the Navy's commitment to our nation's quest for peace and freedom worldwide. The Sailors cut the cake with a sword, a traditional reminder that they are among a band of warriors, committed to carrying arms so that the United States and its people may live in peace. NSWC Corona Engineers Receive Awards From Great Minds in STEM

Elvis Acosta (2019 STEM Hero), Performance Assessment Department Head, leads more than 350 scientists, engineers, mathematicians and computer scientists in combat systems test and evaluation for multiple agencies and sponsors, providing data collection, transfer and storage; rapid analysis reporting; fleet-training feedback and assessment products. He is the first Hispanic to serve as a technical department head and test and evaluation director at NSWC Corona.
