Future USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119) Begins Fabrication

150721-N-EW716-001 (July 21, 2015) PASCAGOULA, Miss. - Mrs. Ima Black, widow of the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, Delbert Black, begins the mechanized process of cutting the steel plate with the help of Paul Bosarge, Huntington Ingalls Industries burner/work leader.  Mrs. Black is the sponsor for the destroyer DDG 119 -- the future USS Delbert D. Black -- which formally started fabrication in Ingalls' Pascagoula, Miss., shipyard today.

Navy Amphibious Ship Receives Longer Lasting, More Efficient LED Bulbs

120414-N-ZZ999-001 SAN DIEGO - The LPD 17 class program (PMS 317) Program Executive Office, Ships completed installation of light emitting diodes (LED) bulbs on USS Somerset (LPD 25) Feb. 27, replacing legacy shipboard fluorescent light bulbs with longer lasting, more efficient LED bulbs.
