NSWCDD Engineers Develop Post Intercept Debris Simulation to Protect Warfighters, Improve Capability

McConnell is the technical lead for the Damaged State Modeling of a Post Intercept Threat Program, also known as Damaged States. Miller is the program manager for both programs. PIDS is designed to provide Department of Defense testbeds with a representation of post-intercept debris for specific missile engagements. Command Evaluation and Review Office Updates Name to Better Reflect Inspection, Investigation, Audit Responsibilities

The office has inspector general-like responsibilities including inspections, investigations and audit tracking, and recently underwent an official name change to better reflect that role. Previously, CR&I was referred to as Command Evaluation and Review.

NSWC Dahlgren Division Scientist Inspires Future Generation of STEM Leaders

IMAGE: Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division scientist Luis Valcourt-Colón is the program lead for the SeaPerch underwater robotics STEM program at Dahlgren. Valcourt-Colón is a recipient of the Distinguished Community Service Award for his volunteer service with the SeaPerch and SeaGlide programs and with the STEM community at NSWCDD. His citation reads in part, “With innovative ideas, he grew a small outreach program into one of the most effective Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics programs at NSWCDD. His drive and enthusiasm continue to be critical in reaching students and developing the next generation of STEM leaders.”
