JABS program personnel complete final test milestone, leave 21-year MCM program lasting impact

The Joint Direct Attack Munition Assault Breaching System (JABS) Test and Evaluation Team is made up of personnel from Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, NSWC Indian Head, Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc., support contractors and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. NSWC PCD chief engineer shines as STAR Award recipient

Ivan Pereira, Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division chief engineer, was selected as a Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Technical Achievement and Recognition (STAR) Award recipient for 2023. The STAR Award honors outstanding professionals, students and organizations for their dedication, commitment and selfless efforts to advance Hispanics in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers.

NSWC PCD National Disability Employment Awareness Month Spotlight: Andrew Hawley

Andrew Hawley, a NSWC PCD Threat Analysis Branch mechanical engineer, is deaf and primarily communicates using American Sign Language. With a focus in automation and robotics, he uses his comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines to support the warfighter and has made an immediate impact on this Navy Lab in only 11 months. NSWC Panama City computer scientist wins Women of Color Award

Larriel Hester, computer scientist and test director at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, was recently chosen as the Women of Color Technology Rising Star Award recipient. She is a level II test director for the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) system, which provides a standardized, deployable Command and Control capability to the fleet. NSWC PCD Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight: Lt. Rich Morales

Lt. Rich Morales serves the fleet as the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) acting executive officer and fleet liaison officer. He has been assigned to NSWC PCD for nearly two and half years and is responsible for leading a diverse team of service members to use their unique skillsets to enhance the NSWC PCD mission—to dominate the littorals.

Panama City scientist awarded Top Navy Scientist Award

Dr. Richard Tatum, Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division scientist, was recently recognized with the Individual Scientist Award from the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition) 2023 Dr. Delores M. Etter Top Scientists and Engineers Awards. He developed and extended a mathematical framework to identify cost-effective, hypothetical autonomous systems to accomplish fleet mission goals.
