JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii (February 27, 2022)- Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro looks at the proposed Dry Dock 5 site at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. The Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program will support future Virginia-class submarine maintenance and optimize work across the shipyard. Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Employees Promote Apprentice Program at Waipahu High School

The event was part of the school’s job fair in which students from the Design and Technology Academy met with various organizations to learn about different employment programs. The PHNSY & IMF Apprentice Program is a successful partnership between the shipyard, the U.S. Department of Labor, and Honolulu Community College. Graduating apprentices earn a tuition-paid Associate in Applied Science degree, and a certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Mililani Native Selected as Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard’s Senior Executive Service Director

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii – Mr. John Ornellas, the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Manager for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF), was appointed its newest Senior Executive Service in October. As the organization’s senior civilian, Ornellas reports directly to Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., and is responsible for properly controlling radioactive work on nuclear propulsion plants. Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard remembers USS Oklahoma

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Dec. 7, 2021) - "Rosie" Mae Krier meets with Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Facility Commander Capt. Hafa Adai! Guam Detachment In Full Effect

In October 2018, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) formally asked Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) and Commander Submarine Forces Pacific (COMSUBPAC) to complete a study and provide requirements to close the existing maintenance gaps in executing submarine maintenance in Guam. The island’s strategic location would be the focus of this initiative; however, leadership knew there would be hurdles to overcome due to its remote location.

FMR Completes Underwater Hub Replacement Job
November 23, 2021
Fleet Maintenance Repair and Dive and Crane & Rigging Teams completed an underwater hub replacement on USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) bravo piers. The dedicated Crane and Rigging teams removed all five propeller blades, then installed a cofferdam, which allowed them to work underwater in a dry environment to remove the old hub and install the new one.
