$42 Million Lilly Grants to Benefit NSWC Crane, Surrounding Areas
March 15, 2016 — CRANE, Ind.— Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) and the 11 counties surrounding it are headed for a better educated workforce, an increased number of technical jobs and more attractive communities, thanks to $42 million dollars in grant money from Lilly Endowment Inc. NSWC Crane Scientist Wins International Pyrotechnics Award
March 10, 2016 — CRANE, Ind.— Dr. Jonathan Dilger, a scientist at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has won the 2016 Dr. Bernard E. Douda Young Scientist Award. The International Pyrotechnics Society (IPS) presents the award annually to assist one scientist under 40 in presenting research at an IPS seminar. In Fiscal Year 2014, the DoD managed more than 4.7 million parts at a cost of over $96 billion. Representatives from each of the partner organizations met with students at the school on Tuesday, Sept. 8 to explain the new business simulation pilot program, which will immerse kids in a corporate environment while augmenting their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education...
