INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division’s (NSWC Crane) first female chief of staff has received Indiana’s most prestigious recognition of women in the state.  The Indiana Commission for Women presents Torchbearer Awards to those who have stepped forward as leaders by breaking down barriers to women’s full participation while demonstrating achievement in the areas of their professional careers, community leadership and/or public service.  Lawrence County’s Angie Lewis joined the ranks of those honored for their extraordinary contributions and pioneering spirits at a special awards ceremony in Indianapolis Wednesday evening.

NSWC Crane Helps Prepare Bloomfield Students for STEM Careers

BLOOMFIELD, Indiana - Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) has partnered with the DirectEmployers Foundation, Bloomfield Jr./Sr. High School and Indiana University’s Center for P-16 Research and Collaboration to put personnel into the classroom as part of a total immersion project designed to bring the naval installation into the school system.  Representatives from each of the partner organizations met with students at the school on Tuesday, Sept. 8 to explain the new business simulation pilot program, which will immerse kids in a corporate environment while augmenting their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

Airborne Electronic Attack Systems Division Wins Value Engineering Achievement Award

150625-N-BK152-001- Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division’s (NSWC Crane) Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) Systems Division was awarded a Navy Special Achievement award on June 25, 2015.  The Department of Defense (DoD) selected the division for the award because of a successful Value Engineering initiative for the Army Rapid Equipping Force.

Hoosier Teams Score Big at National SeaPerch Challenge

150530-N-ER677-008 - Over 500 students on 140 teams from across the United States and Puerto Rico competed at the National SeaPerch Challenge. Participants used remotely operated vehicles (ROV) to compete in either the stock division or the open division.
