Carderock Engineer's Work on Risk Assessment in Bridges Benefits Shipbuilding

Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) passes under the Verrazano Bridge during a parade of ships in the New York Harbor river to mark the start of 2016 Fleet Week New York. The event Fleet Week New York, now in its 28th year, is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services. The weeklong celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984.

Carderock, University of Iowa Sign Education Partnership

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division Commanding Officer Capt. Mark Vandroff (left) signs an Education Partnership Agreement with the University of Iowa on Feb. 26, 2018. With its educational emphasis on naval hydrodynamics and associated technologies, the University of Iowa's partnership will seek to aid in the educational experience of students by providing staff experience and unique facilities and equipment available through Carderock. Carderock's contribution will help to encourage student interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Naval Meterology and Oceanography Command collabortates with Carderock for remote autonomous demonstration

Engineers from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division launch an unmanned surface vehicle in Triadelphia Reservoir near Brighton Dam in Brookville, Md., that will function as a relay for an unmanned underwater vehicle conducting bathymetry in the reservoir Sept. 28, 2017.
