NSWC Panama City adds new facility to impact fleet subsea and seabed, mine warfare missions
February 12, 2025 — Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) continued its commitment to warfighter solutions with the addition of its new Acoustic Test Facility and Instrumentation building during a ribbon-cutting ceremony onboard Naval Support Activity Panama City, Feb. 5. This 1,400 square foot facility will provide instrumentation, data acquisition, and electronics staging areas, supporting the NSWC PCD Acoustic Test & Calibration Pier Service Cost Center. David Back as Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division’s commanding officer during a change of command ceremony held onboard Naval Support Activity Panama City, Fla., Jan. 31. Rear Adm. Todd Evans, commander, Naval Surface and Undersea Warfare, served as the event’s presiding officer and guest speaker. NSWC PCD, which was established in 1945, consists of more than 1,600 civilians, 1,000 contractors, and 40 military personnel, with an overall business base of $619 million in economic impact.
