The Virginia-class submarine USS Mississippi (SSN 782) docks in Dry Dock #1 on May 19 ahead of its extended dry-docking selected restricted availability. USS Mississippi's motto is Virtute et Armis ("By Valor and Arms") and is homeported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

A Small Business Administration final rule to implement the 2018 Small Business Runway Extension Act effective on Jan. 6, 2020 is good news for Dahlgren, according to Parker. Yard Patrol 686 Craft Completes Service Life Extension Program

The Navy recently completed a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) on Yard Patrol 686 and returned the modernized craft to the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), May 14. The SLEP for the vessel began in August 2019 and was executed in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard at their Curtis Bay shipyard in Baltimore, Maryland.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division’s Office of Research and Technology Applications Manager Alan Jaeger, center, leads a group that includes visitors from the Department of Navy’s NavalX program on a tour of the Fathomwerx innovation lab at the Port of Hueneme, Jan. 27. Fathomwerx was created in partnership with the port, the Ventura County Economic Development Collaborative and Camarillo, Calif.-based Matter Labs. Fathomwerx is now one of the Navy’s new NavalX Tech Bridges.
