DAHLGREN, Va. – Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division scientists and engineers used a M110 Howitzer modified with a 155 mm barrel to launch projectiles traveling nearly four times the speed of sound toward controlled blasts of 30 to 100 pounds of dynamite. Future USS Massachusetts Delivered to U.S. Navy
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Oct. 8, 2025) The future Virginia class attack submarine USS Massachusetts (SSN 798) participates in sea trials. The future Massachusetts is the 25th Virginia class submarine produced through the combined efforts of HII-Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and General Dynamics Electric Boat.
