Hanyok Strengthens Workforce Through Community Partnerships

Lauren Hanyok, Capital Tech Bridge Director for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, discusses opportunities at NSWC Carderock with Montgomery County Public Schools’ Summer RISE (Reimagining an Innovative Student Experience) program interns at the program career fair session at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville, Md., July 25, 2024. The session gives students and companies who participated in the program the opportunity to network and learn about different future opportunities, like those offered at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division. Carderock is one of the Navy’s pre-eminent research and development facilities that specializes in critical ship design components headquartered in West Bethesda, Maryland. The Carderock Division supports small-scale model testing and evaluation of next-generation surface ships and underwater vessels.

Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) is a live data-sharing system that advances battlespace awareness and weapon coordination across the Navy. Through a combination of hardware and software, CEC is designed to strengthen the anti-air and surface warfare of Navy ships and aircraft by aggregating radar and sensor data to create a full picture of the battlespace across the CEC network.
