Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division Led Critical Steps in Successful Flight Test Aegis Weapon System-44 (FTM-44)

On Nov. 16, U.S. Missile Defense Agency and Navy sailors aboard USS John Finn (DDG 113), an Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System-equipped destroyer, fired a Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA guided missile that successfully intercepted and destroyed a mock Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) during a flight test demonstration in the broad ocean area northeast of Hawaii.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division personnel supported the complex at-sea test while aboard the John Finn and from various shore-based command and control locations around the Pacific region.

New commander takes charge of PSNS & IMF in unique socially distanced ceremony

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility welcomed its new commander Dec. 2, 2020, at the shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, during a unique change of command ceremony that was arranged to protect participants and audience members from COVID-19. NSWC Panama City provides rapid testing support with in-house manufacturing capabilities

Three pieces of reverse engineered prototypes were 3D printed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) Additive Manufacturing Laboratory. These prototypes were a proof of concept for the NSWC PCD Fabrication and Prototype Shops to rapidly deliver a solution to meet emerging fleet needs.
