The guided missile destroyer USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) fires an SM-2 missile during a live-fire missile exercise off the 
coast of Virginia, March 25, 2019. The AEGIS Virtual Twin controlled the missile to successfully intercept an inbound target.

NSWC PCD Scientist Tackles Navy’s Toughest Problems

Dr. Cobb is a well-respected scientist and engineer in the field of signal processing and automation. He was recently promoted to Distinguished scientist and engineer for advanced signal processing and automation, a NAVSEA position, that reports directly to the NSWC PCD TD. His story is particular interesting about his story is that he was initially reluctant to take a leadership role that was offered to him. Despite his hesitation he has been resoundingly successful and is a sought after expert in his field.
