Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) hosted Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic and Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) to collaborate on warfighter problems in a one-week, rapid prototyping event. Engineers and technicians from both NSWC Crane and NIWC Atlantic worked alongside MCWL Fellows to solve their operational challenges at the Warfighter Driven Challenge (WDC) at Crane’s Rapid Innovation Prototype Laboratory (RIPL).

At the 2019 Hack the Machine event held in New York City, Sept. 6-8, members of the first place winning team, "Ahh Ship!" in the educational option of track one, "Hack the Ship," from left to right, Pete Frye, Eric Monette, Emmuel Delgado, Courtnee Mendes, Hanna Salian, Ian Wilson, Chris Draper, and Kiera Wells. The golden water bottle was used in lieu of a trophy.

NSWC Crane data scientists and engineers place at HacktheMachine New York

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) data scientists and engineers participated in HacktheMachine New York in Manhattan and Brooklyn on September 6-8. Teams with NSWC Crane members took first and third in the Digital Manufacturing track. Teams consisting of all-NSWC Crane members placed third in the Data Science challenge track, and another took fourth place in the Hack the Ship track.
