John Finn is named in honor of Lt. John William Finn, a chief aviation ordnanceman and the first member of the armed services to earn the Medal of Honor during World War II for heroism during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Keel Laid for the Future USS Frank E. Petersen Jr.

After tracing her initials onto the keel plate of DDG 121 -- the future USS FRANK E. PETERSEN, JR. -- Mrs. D'Arcy Neller, authenticator and ship sponsor, watches from behind a protective mask as Ingalls Shipbuilding structural welder Jeremy Lally etches her initials into the ship's keel plate.  The keel authentication ceremony for DDG 121 was held Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS.  Also observing at left is Ingalls Shipbuilding President Mr. Brian Cuccias.  The keel's co-authenticator, Mr. Donald Brabston, a 50-year Ingalls employee, was unable to attend.
