New Supervisors Propel Toward Success at NAVSEA Warfare Centers

They completed a five-day course called 'Propel' that provides an introductory level awareness of Warfare Center expectations for supervisors. The NSWCDD tour and briefings - focusing on the Electromagnetic Railgun Facility, the Potomac River Test Range, and the Human Performance Laboratory - gave the Propel students a deeper look into the work at Dahlgren. IMAGE: DAHLGREN, Va. – Myron ‘Lyn’ Thomas is a recipient of the 2018 Assistant Secretary of the Navy Research, Development and Acquisition Dr. Delores M. Etter Top Scientists and Engineers of the Year Award, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) announced June 6. Thomas – one of four NSWCDD employees honored with the individual award – was recognized for designing and testing the first discarding sabot Hyper Velocity Projectile launch packages for several different gun system platforms, according to the award citation. NSWC PCD employee hones skills on Navy’s Marksmanship team

Jeff King, a Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) Diving and Life Support technician is the only civilian member on the five-person United States Navy Marksmanship and Action Shooting Team.  The sport of Multi-Gun requires proficiency in rifle, pistol, and shotgun. Matches are composed of stages in which competitors must neutralize all targets.
