NSWCDD Engineers Revolutionize Combat Training with TRACER Augmented Reality

IMAGE: 190613-N-PO203-0259 CHESAPEAKE, Virginia (Jun. 13, 2019) A Sailor assigned to the Center for Security Forces detachment in Chesapeake, Va., demonstrate the Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG) TechSolutions-sponsored Tactically Reconfigurable Artificial Combat Enhanced Reality (TRACER) system. TechSolutions partnered with Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division to develop the TRACER package, which consists of a virtual-reality headset, a backpack, a state-of-the-art simulated weapon designed to deliver realistic recoil, and a software package that creates multiple and adaptable simulation scenarios for security personnel to experience. Chief of Naval Research Visits NSWC Crane for First Time in Crane’s History

The Chief of Naval Research, Rear Adm. David Hahn, visited Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) on March 6 to learn more about Crane's capabilities in Strategic Missions, Expeditionary Warfare and Electronic Warfare. This was the first time the head of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) has ever made a trip to Crane.
