PANAMA CITY, Fla. –
Seungjin Lee, Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) SEAL Delivery Vehicle project deputy systems engineer was awarded the Navy Civilian Service Commendation Medal for his outstanding work in the development of a critical piece of equipment for U.S. military special operations forces.
Lee was recognized for his role in expediting the approval of a Temporary Design Deviation (TDD-010) for the MK11 system. The TDD-010 was requested by Naval Special Warfare to support an upcoming mission requirement, and Lee's work ensured that the necessary approvals were obtained in time to meet the deadline.
Lee's efforts involved rapidly implementing Naval Sea Systems Command recommendations by reorganizing and rewriting the technical data package for both submission and approval. His work was instrumental in obtaining the necessary approvals, and his dedication to delivering capabilities to the warfighter was praised by his supervisors.
When hearing about his recognition, Lee was a filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
"Winning the award means that the work that I've done and will continue to do is acknowledged by my leadership," he said.
Lee's work on the TDD-010 was particularly notable given the tight timeline and the complexity of the technical requirements involved. His ability to balance his workload and overcome technical challenges to meet rigorous deadlines was praised by his colleagues.
“Mr. Lee’s efforts have ensured that the warfighter has a critical piece of equipment for national tasking,” said Jesse Miles, NSWC PCD Special Operations Engineering and Development Branch head. “This award is a testament to his hard work and dedication to supporting the military's special operations forces."
