Present and former Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) employees will soon serve alongside teachers at a local school, working hands-on with students as part of a total immersion project designed to bring the naval installation into the school system.  NSWC Crane has partnered with the DirectEmployers Foundation, Bloomfield Jr./Sr. High School and Indiana University's Center for P-16 Research and Collaboration to put personnel into the classroom and use special projects to bring learning to life for students.

Navy Accepts Delivery of LCS 6

Crowell (left), mayor of Carson City, Nev., welds his initials into the keel plate of JHSV 7 -- the future USNS Carson City -- with the help of Austal USA welder Mr. Tuong Phan during the keel authentication ceremony July 31. JHSVs provide fast intra-theater transportation of troops, military vehicles, equipment and supplies in support of a wide variety of missions.

RFID Reduces Inventory Time Aboard Littoral Combat Ship

PENSACOLA, Florida - Machinist Mate Third Class Petty Officer (SW) Logan Peters uses a hand-held RFID scanner to conduct inventory aboard USS Independence. RFID technology provides the ability to dramatically reduce the time sailors spend conducting parts and equipment inventory in support of ship replenishment.
