PHILADELPHIA (August 15, 2019) Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) engineer Patrick Violante demonstrates augmented reality to a Girl Scout summer camper during the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania for their STEM Experience Summer Camp on Aug. 15. NSWC Crane names new Technology Transfer Director

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) has named Jenna Dix its new Office of Research and Technology Applications (ORTA) Technology Transfer (T2) Director. Dix previously served as NSWC Crane’s T2 Agreements Administrator.

IMAGE: DAHLGREN, Va. (Aug. 8, 2019) - Steering Committee members of the Navy's sixth annual Unmanned  Systems Integration Workshop and Technical Exchange Meeting are pictured at this year's event. Military and civilian unmanned, weapon, and energetic systems experts throughout the Naval Research and Development Establishment, Office of Secretary of Defense, and other services presented briefs and engaged in discussions on technologies and policies related to the strategies and challenges for test and evaluation of weaponized unmanned systems. 

Speakers and attendees networked while discussing partnerships, technology efforts, policy and demonstrated programs at the two-day event co-hosted by Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division, NSWC Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (IHEODTD), and the Unmanned Vehicle and Autonomous Systems Group at Naval Sea Systems Command. The workshop and technical exchange was sponsored by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (Tactical Warfare Systems Office and the Land Warfare and Munitions Office), the Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise and the NSWC Warfare Centers.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) hosted its fifth annual Microelectronics Integrity Meeting (MIM) at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis Aug. 6-7. Five hundred professionals from across the country attended the event this year, including registrants from the Department of Defense (DoD), DoD contractors, academia, and industry.

NSWC Crane launched first summer internship program with the U.S. Naval Academy

Senator Todd Young (R-IN) initiated the partnership between the United States Naval Academy (USNA) and NSWC Crane that lead to this first ever summer internship program. Five USNA midshipmen were accepted to participate in internships supporting the fleet in Strategic Missions.
