US Navy’s Unmanned Influence Sweep System Achieves Milestone C

The Unmanned Influence Sweep System, accompanied by an escort vessel, heads out for an Operational Assessment mission off the coast of South Florida in November 2019. The UISS consists of an unmanned surface vehicle and a towed minesweeping payload for influence sweeping of magnetic, acoustic and magnetic/acoustic combination mine types while keeping warfighters out of the minefield.

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (Feb. 22, 2020) The future USS Delbert D. Black sails in the Gulf of Mexico for builder's trials in late February. The Flight IIA Arleigh Burke-class destroyer successfully completed builder's trials Feb. 22 and will be underway again in March for acceptance trials.

200220-N-QL258-0039 Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD)’s National Engineers Week celebration culminated in a cake cutting ceremony honoring the Command’s newest and longest serving engineers, Feb. 20. NSWCPD’s newest engineers Ryan Weikel, Yasir Rizvi, and Ethan Klabunde started earlier in the week on Feb. 18, while chemical engineer Al McCarrick has been with the Command for 44 years. The engineers were joined by NSWCPD’s Technical Director Tom Perotti and guest speaker Jill Boward, Executive Director, Program Executive office Integrated Warfare Systems, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition).
