Norfolk Naval Shipyard Highlights Employees Chosen for the NAVSEA NEXTGEN Leadership Program: David Leon II and Brittany Tavassoli

Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) and its tenant locations recently saw the selection of seven individuals for the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Next Generation of Leadership (NEXTGEN) Program, which offers participants the chance to learn about leadership throughout several different initiatives for the next year.

Norfolk Naval Shipyard's Code 900 Production Resource Officer, Capt. Frank Gasperetti, congratulated Code 926 Workforce Development Lead Mr. James Anderson for receiving the honor to have the Production Resource Office conference room named after him for the month of June 2023. Anderson was chosen because of his passion for building an effective workforce development program and his commitment to building and improving the program for Code 926 and all the trades in Code 900.

Norfolk Naval Shipyard VET-ERG Brings Holiday Cheer to Community with Annual Toys for Tots Collection

For more than 10 years, Norfolk Naval Shipyard's Veteran Employee Readiness Group (VET-ERG) has led the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign to help support children in need during the holiday season. This year the shipyard reached new heights with a record 1,256 toys collected, surpassing last year's total of 621 toys.
