NSWC PCD’s collaboration with Sagetech elevates Navy to new unmanned aircraft systems heights
August 7, 2023 — Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) continues its pursuit to be a collaborator of choice who expands naval superiority in its latest partnership with Sagetech Avionics, Inc. The two organizations held a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) signing ceremony, July 27. This CRADA, entitled the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Collaborative Research Effort, aims to combine technology and reimagined design within this dynamic field using Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capabilities. Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center’s (FDRMC) Commanding Officer Capt. Brian Karosich and Executive Director Christopher Ledlow visited the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) located at Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, Poland. FDRMC is responsible for the planned maintenance and modernization of AAMDS as well as emergent repairs through fleet technical assistance. FDRMC project teams oversee comprehensive Chief of Naval Operations maintenance availability on-site. Planned maintenance periods ensures Aegis Ashore receives needed repair and modernization so that it remains fully mission capable throughout its service to the NATO alliance.

Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility Named Naval Supervising Authority and Lead Maintenance Activity for Submarine Rotational Force - West
August 3, 2023 — WASHINGTON - Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command Vice Adm. Bill Galinis named Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) as the Naval Supervising Authority (NSA) and Lead Maintenance Activity (LMA) for Submarine Rotational Force – West (SRF-W) July 26. As the NSA/LMA, PHNSY & IMF will support the establishment of SRF-W, which is the first phase of the AUKUS Pillar One effort that is delivering conventionally armed nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs) to Australia. SRF-W will host up to four Virginia-class and one United Kingdom Astute-class attack submarines (SSNs) at HMAS Stirling on a rotational basis in Western Australia starting in 2027... MORE
