Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Commanding Officer Capt. Casey Plew, Technical Director John Fiore, and U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman recognized Howard during the command’s Honorary Awards video program to be released in July 2020.

Blalock is recognized for his impact on the Navy's cyber security testing capability while leading cybersecurity systems engineering efforts to architect a safe cyber test environment for the Navy. “I am extremely humbled, and honored to have been nominated and selected to receive this award,” said Blalock, program manager and cyber test engineer for a distributed cyber test architecture called USS Secure at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). “This award is the result of the hard work of a large group of people that are dedicated to ensuring the safety of the fleet through cyber testing and hardening.” (U.S. Navy photo/Released)

Navy Officials Break Ground for New Cyber Warfare Engineering Laboratory

Navy officials, including NSWCDD leadership, broke ground for the facility Dec. 12. It will bring together the building blocks of existing capabilities into one place to provide a robust and flexible software and hardware testing capability for Department of Defense and Navy weapon systems, cyber and network platforms in addition to industrial control systems supporting DoD infrastructure.
