NSWC Crane Highlights its Dedication to Naval Excellence at its 3rd Annual Meet the Mission Event

NSWC Crane employees present their research at MtM Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) hosted its 3rd annual Meet the Mission (MtM) event on September 11th. MtM gave civilian, military and contractor employees the chance to explore the different technologies produced on base.

MtM included tables, booths, and technology showcased from all of NSWC Crane’s mission areas as well as other tenant commands, including Naval Systems Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Naval Support Activity Crane (NSA Crane), and Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA)

 

Attendants learned about the history of Crane, the current technologies being developed within key departments, the complex nature of operations, and networked with various people across the instillation.

CAAA employees share their Army pride at MtMThe event brings together all of TEAM Crane. Allowing the different Navy commands and even Army command to highlight their contributions to the Joint Forces. CAAA’s attendance at the event gave them the chance to highlight the highly specialized work they accomplish at Crane.

“We were honored to be a part of this event,” said COL Cornett, CAAA Commanding Officer. “At CAAA we believe in providing only the best for our best, it was an honor to showcase that sentiment here next to our Navy brothers and sisters.”

NSA Crane also showcased their work, including facilities resiliency and projects to help strengthen the ability of various tenant organizations to accomplish their missions.

NSWC Crane employees test out technology at MtM event“It was great to see everyone out at Meet the Mission,” said LCDR Grinch, Executive Officer for NSA. “Events like this give our team the opportunity to understand the full scope of support our tenant commands provide for our Warfighters.”

MtM was a way for employees from the various tenant commands to interact with leadership. Civilian and military leadership from each organization connected with employees, allowing them to interact and learn what matters most to them.

“It is an honor to be a part of this event with our partners at NSA and CAAA,” said NSWC Crane Commanding Officer CAPT Boonyobhas. “We are all partners in our goal to aid our Warfighters, and this event stands as a reminder of that mission. MtM allows us to showcase our dedication to our Joint forces.”

CAPT Boonyobhas observing technological demonstrations MtM was open-house style that allowed employees to come together and celebrate TEAM Crane. Those in attendance or purchase gear to honor the Navy’s 250th Birthday.

“It being the 250th birthday of the Navy makes this event more special, at least for me,” said CAPT Boonyobhas. “All of TEAM Crane plays such a special part in that history and enduring legacy of our Fleet. I was honored to help celebrate it in such a unique and mission-focused way.”
