DAHLGREN, Va. – A fire occurred at one of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division’s (NSWCDD) testing facilities, Jan. 6, at 4:46 p.m.
The fire was in one of the division’s buildings used for research, development and testing. Fire crews from the base fire department were on the scene by 4:52 p.m. and had the fire extinguished by 6 p.m. No one was injured in the fire, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and extent of any damage. Area fire departments also responded to provide mutual aid and assist the base fire department.
