BREMERTON, Wash. –
Salute, the official newsletter for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, is now publicly available online for the first time.
Published since 1941, the bi-weekly Salute has been a resource for employees and service members of PSNS & IMF to receive shipyard news and features, professional development information and stories about the organization’s history, important events and work milestones.
“Putting Salute online will provide greater access for our employees, their families, retirees and the communities we are a part of to get a closer look at the work we do,” said Kellie Randall, public affairs officer for PSNS & IMF.
Traditionally, the Salute has been physically printed, with copies distributed to PSNS & IMF locations in Washington, California and Japan; it is also offered on an internal online network. That won’t change, but additional circulation via the internet will enable the shipyard to connect with broader readership.
“The convenience for our readers and the ability to reach a whole new audience provide an opportunity that’s too good to pass up,” said PSNS & IMF Commander Capt. Howard Markle.
Salute will be available online at https://www.dvidshub.net/publication/1101/salute, with reminders being sent out via the PSNS & IMF website and social media outlets.
