Unique USS Scranton (SSN 756) availability nears its endgame

The Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Scranton (SSN 756) prepares to depart the floating dry dock ARCO (ARDM 5) at Naval Base Point Loma, California, Sept. 4, 2024. Scranton is part of Commander, Submarine Squadron 11, home to five Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarines, which are capable of supporting various missions, including: anti-submarine warfare; anti-ship warfare; strike warfare; and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
