NEWPORT, R.I. - Air Vice-Marshall Gerry van Leeuwen (from left), head of Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Systems for the Department of Defence of Australia, and his staff members listen as Tony Paolero, head of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport Sensors and Arrays Division of the Sensors and Sonar Systems Department, details the work done in the Acoustic Pressure Tank Facility during a visit to Division Newport on April 7, 2025. The facility provides acoustic testing over a wide range of simulated ocean environments for the Navy, industry, academia and international partners. The U.S. and Australia navies have a long-standing military relationship that continues to grow through collaboration.
