KEYPORT, Wash. - 190520-N-YX169-001 KEYPORT, Wash. (May 20, 2019) - Holly Giermann, a Naval Acquisition Development Program intern, and Jared Peterson, Facilities Branch Head, study the original 1915 linen blueprints for Bldg. 1 at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport. Bldg. 1, completed in 1917, was the first U.S. Navy building constructed at the former Pacific Coast Torpedo Station, which evolved into today's NUWC Division Keyport. Bldg. 1 is undergoing a massive rehabilitation and renovation effort that will enable it to serve for well over another century, while maintaining a culture of affordability by re-utilizing a structurally sound building instead of tearing it down and building a brand new facility in its place.
