DAHLGREN, Va. (June 14, 2017) - Chester Petry, Electromagnetic Railgun lead systems engineer, briefs Army Brig. Gen. Randy McIntire, commandant of the Air Defense Artillery School, on electromagnetic railgun projectiles. McIntire, who is also the Chief of the Army's Air Defense Artillery, was briefed on Navy railgun and directed energy programs - including high energy lasers - during his tour at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.  The Air Defense Artillery Center and School provides the Army and combatant commanders with a flexible, adaptive, and tailorable Air Defense Artillery force able to defeat the full range of threats across the spectrum of operations. It's operational mission is to provide fires to protect the force and selected geopolitical assets from aerial attack, missile attack and surveillance. (U.S. Navy photo/Released)
