DAHLGREN, Va. - Ralph Stewart, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Battle Management System Program Manager, briefs congressional staffers during the delegation's tour of the NSWCDD Battle Management System and Laboratory, July 29. The staffers - representing congressmen and women from Rhode Island, California, Alabama, Virginia, Hawaii, Indiana and Oklahoma - also received tours and briefings on the electromagnetic railgun, directed energy, virtualization, cybersecurity, and combined integrated air and missile defense-antisubmarine warfare. NSWCDD is a premier research and development center that serves as a specialty site for weapon system integration. The command's unique ability to rapidly introduce new technology into complex warfighting systems is based on its longstanding competencies in science and technology, research and development, and test and evaluation.
