Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Edward P. Bazile is a native of New York and was raised in the borough of Queens. He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 23, 1997. Upon completion of Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Seaman Apprentice School, also in Great Lakes.
Master Chief Bazile began his naval career as a Boatswain’s Mate and plank owner aboard USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) from January 1998 to September 2002. During this tour, he deployed twice - first from January to July 2000 for the ship’s inaugural Western Pacific (WESTPAC) deployment in support of Operation Southern Watch, and again from December 2001 to June 2002 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His subsequent assignments include tours with Navy Recruiting District Los Angeles, California, where he converted to Navy Career Counselor (Career Recruiting Force); Navy Recruiting District Chicago, Illinois; Navy Recruiting District San Francisco, California; Navy Recruiting Command, Millington, Tennessee, where he served as a National Trainer and Inspector (N7); and Navy Recruiting District Richmond, Virginia, where he served as Enlisted Assistant Chief Recruiter. He was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) Program in February 2017.
Master Chief Bazile’s Command Master Chief assignments include Cooperative Security Location Comalapa, El Salvador; Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWELVE (HSC-12); USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18); and Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) BOUGAINVILLE (LHA 8). He assumed his current duties as Command Master Chief, Program Executive Office, Ships (PEO Ships) in November 2025.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies, and is qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) insignia.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and numerous unit, service, and campaign awards.
Master Chief Bazile is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 56, Silver Group, December 2014) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 177, September 2017).
