Master Chief Anthony T. Mazza

Command Master Chief, Naval Nuclear Power Training Command

Master Chief Anthony T. Mazza, a native of Park Falls, Wisconsin, enlisted in the Navy in April 1999. Following basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he completed Nuclear Field Electronics Technician “A” School and Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, South Carolina. He then finished the nuclear power training pipeline at Nuclear Prototype Training Unit, Ballston Spa, New York.

At sea, he served aboard USS Maryland (SSBN 738) completing 10 strategic deterrent patrols; USS Florida (SSGN 728) completing four CENTCOM SSGN Deployments and two Major Modernization Periods; USS New Mexico (SSN 779), where he was selected for advancement to Master Chief Petty Officer and served as Engineering Department Master Chief, completed an Extended Dry-Dock Selected Restricted Availability, crew certification, and one EUCOM deployment.

His shore tours include instructor duty at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Nuclear Power School, where he was selected for advancement to chief petty officer and instructor duty at Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit MTS-626, where he was selected for advancement to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Mazza reported as Command Master Chief for Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, SC in February 2025. 

His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
