CDR Michael A. Winslow

Executive Officer, NPTU Charleston

A native of Goldendale, WA, Commander Michael Winslow enlisted in the Navy in 1994 and volunteered for service in the submarine community as a submarine electrician.  A 2005 graduate of the University of Arizona, he was commissioned through the Seaman to Admiral 21 program (Nuclear option).  He holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from the Naval Postgraduate School.

His sea duty assignments include service aboard submarines, destroyers, amphibious ships, littoral combat ships, and aircraft carriers across Second and Third Fleet. He has deployed to the Arabian Gulf, Western Pacific, and the Aleutian Islands. His assignments include Electrical Division Leading Petty Officer aboard USS Florida (SSBN 728) (Gold); First Lieutenant aboard USS Shoup (DDG 86); Reactor Mechanical Division Officer aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76); Combat Systems Officer and Chief Engineer aboard USS Somerset (LPD 25); Reactor Training Assistant aboard USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78); Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of USS Jackson (LCS 6); and Assistant Reactor Officer aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
