Senior Chief Mazurek, a native of Warren, Michigan, enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1998. He completed basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois.
Upon graduation, he reported to OS “A” school at FCTCLANT Dam Neck with follow on duty to the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), where he worked in the Tactical Operations Plot and surface warfare module. His fleet assignments include: USS Nashville (LPD-13), SEAL Team 8, and SEAL Team 10. In addition, he completed shore assignments at COMPACFLT Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and two tours at Navy Recruiting District Michigan.
Senior Chief Mazurek is currently serving as Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Surface Combat Systems Center in Wallops Island, Virginia. Additionally, Senior Chief Mazurek is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 251 and has earned his Enlisted Surface and Expeditionary Warfare designation.
His decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
