Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport offers student internships for high school and university students.
Applications are being accepted through April 13, 2019 for the following high school summer internships (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors):
Undersea Technology Apprentice Program (UTAP)
Undersea Technology Apprentice Program (UTAP) for partner schools
For students who attend New Bedford High School, Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School, Rogers High School, Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Mount Hope High School and Dartmouth High School.
This program provides summer internships for high school students. The summer sessions allow students to work part time alongside scientists and engineers, gaining valuable insight into working with technology and a real-world application of what students have learned in school.
Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP)
This program brings science and engineering students on board for a 10-week summer internship and pays students a stipend. Number of interns varies each year dependent on ONR funding.
Applications for STEM internship positions are no longer being accepted, but college students who are interested in the program are encouraged to apply again in September. Openings in the Pathways Internship Program are posted periodically as positions become available.
