Title: Pierside Connectivity, Pier Kit, Fiber Optic, Pier Interface To Ship
Description: Items that comprise the portion of the fiber optic cable plant to be installed at the pier to permit connection to the ship while the ship is in port (excluding the trunk cable from tech control to the pier).
NAVSEA Drawing 7325762 Rev. D (9 pgs., 891k)
Title: Pierside Connectivity, Ship Kit, Fiber Optic, Ship Interface To Pier
Description: Items that comprise the portion of the fiber optic cable plant to be installed on ships to permit connection to the pier while the ship is in port.
NAVSEA Drawing 7325763 Rev. D (17 pgs., 996k)
Title: Pierside Connectivity, Termination Support Kit, For Fiber Optic ST Connector and Termini
Description: Items that comprise the fiber optic termination kit, optical test kit, measurement quality jumpers (MQJ) sets and accessories needed to install and test the cable plant components for the pierside connectivity application at the pier and onboard ships.
NAVSEA Drawing 7379171 (23 pgs., 1233k)
Title: Fiber Optic Connectors, Hermaphroditic, Multiple Removable Termini
Description: This NAVSEA Drawing covers circular, hermaphroditic style, multiple removable termini, fiber optic connectors and dust covers. This hermaphroditic style connector is intended for use in concatenation as opposed to point-to-point applications. The removable termini that are compatible with the connector types in this NAVSEA Drawing must be procured separately using NAVSEA Drawing 7379172 (REMOVABLE TERMINI FOR MULTIPLE TERMINI FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS). A hermaphroditic connector is one in which cable plugs are able to intermate with one another. The cable plug and jam nut mounted receptacle are the two connector styles addressed in this specification. The jam nut mounted receptacle itself is not hermaphroditic, is used at the interconnection box or panel, and is designed to mate with a cable plug in the forward position (female threads exposed). The cable plug is hermaphroditic, mates with the jam nut mounted receptacle when the cable plug is in the forward position, and is used to concatenate umbilical cable assemblies when one cable plug is in the forward position and the mating cable plug is in the back position (male threads exposed).
NAVSEA Drawing 7379172 (12 pgs., 520k)
Title: Removable Termini For Multiple Termini Fiber Optic Connectors
Description: This NAVSEA Drawing covers multiple removable pin termini and socket termini which are required for circular, plug and receptacle style, fiber optic connectors respectively. The connector plugs and receptacles that are compatible with the termini types in this NAVSEA Drawing must be procured separately using NAVSEA Drawing 7379171 (FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS, HERMAPHRODITIC, MULTIPLE REMOVABLE TERMINI).
NAVSEA Drawing 7379173 (20 pgs., 764k)
Title: Cable, Fiber Optic, Pierside Use Only (Not For Inboard Or Outboard Use), 12 Breakout Cable Count, Multiple Classes (Single Mode, Multimode, Fiber-Hybrid)
Description: This NAVSEA Drawing covers fiber optic, multifiber cable for pierside umbilical cable applications only. Frequent handling and various type outboard exposures are expected to limit this cable to a 2 to 5 year useful life. The cable dimensions are compatible with connector and termini that are procured separately under NAVSEA Drawing 7379171 (FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS, HERMAPHRODITIC, MULTIPLE REMOVABLE TERMINI) and NAVSEA Drawing 7379172 (REMOVABLE TERMINI FOR MULTIPLE TERMINI FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS), respectively.
NAVSEA Drawing 7486958 (5 pgs., 432k)
Title: Pierside Connectivity, Sub Kit, Fiber Optic, Sub Interface To Pier
Description: Items that comprise the portion of the fiber optic cable topology to be installed on submarines to permit connection to the pier while the boat is in port.
NAVSEA Drawing 7486959 (4 pgs., 370k)
Title: Pierside Connectivity, Loop-Back Connector, Fiber Optic, Interface With Hermaphroditic Receptacle
Description: A test connector used to verify operation of/troubleshoot the ship network or the shore network, if the optical loss budget is not exceeded, when a fiber optic umbilical assembly is not connected between the ship and the pier. The loop-back connector is mated to (compatible with) the hermaphroditic receptacle on the ship port/starboard/mid-ship interconnection box or the pier interconnection box.
