Capacitors manufactured to the Military
performance specifications can be purchased to Established Reliability (ER)
levels, identified by a product level designator as shown in Table 1.
The statistical confidence levels are established at a 60% with a 10% consumer
risk factor. The failure rate and statistical confidence level of capacitors
purchased to commercial standards will vary. Quality assurance requirements are
dependent on the quality level of the capacitor. Capacitors conforming to the ER
requirements of Military performance specifications are required to undergo
Group A, B, and C testing on a periodic basis. Conformance tests for the MIL-PRF
capacitor standards are given in Table 2 for Group A Inspection test requirements.

same across all capacitor styles, and some capacitor specifications no longer
contain Group B or C tests.
