PHNSY & IMF Blessing for New Dry Dock
Capt. Steve Padhi, Officer in Charge of Construction Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, addresses the crowd at the dry dock blessing. The U.S. Navy begins construction on a new dry dock at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) Aug. 19, 2023. The construction of the dry dock, currently the Navy’s largest facilities construction project in history, will be the first new dry dock at Pearl Harbor since World War II. PHNSY & IMF’s mission is to repair, maintain, and modernize Navy fast-attack submarines and surface ships, in order to keep the Navy’s fleet “Fit to Fight.” (U.S. Navy photo by Justice Vannatta)
