NUWC Division Newport senior design, capstone project presentations go virtual this year
University of Connecticut students Joshua Dupont (from left), Patrick Haggerty and Nickolai Serebriakov, with guidance by faculty member Dr. Jiong Tang, presented their senior design project “Electromagnetic Expulsion of a Cylindrical Body from an Outer Tube,” online this year because of restrictions on gathering at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport. The project involved mentor Michael Sheehan of Division Newport’s Undersea Warfare Platforms and Payload Integration Department.
