DAHLGREN, Va. (Sept. 11, 2018) - U.S. Navy Ensign Dillard Patton speaks to family, friends, and coworkers at his commissioning ceremony held at the Aegis Training and Readiness Center. Moments earlier, the NSWC Dahlgren Division System Safety Engineering Division civilian engineer was commissioned into the officer ranks of the Naval reserves through the Direct Commission Officer program. “We are victorious because we are faithful to these core values (honor, courage, and commitment) not only when serving on official duty, but also in our personal lives,” Patton told his audience, including Capt. Andrew Thomson, commissioning officer, left, and Lt. Cmdr. Warren Bong, master of ceremony. “I encourage every individual in this room to consider how these (U.S. Navy) core values impact your lives.”
