SMART Scholars Tour NSWCDD

DAHLGREN, Va. (June 13, 2017) - A Navy railgun engineer explains the mechanics behind railgun test articles to Science, Mathematics & Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholars during a briefing of the U.S. Navy's electromagnetic railgun prototype launcher. The Missile Defense Agency sponsored the college students who are among those pursuing a degree in, or closely related to, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines through the Department of Defense SMART Scholar program. Students selected for SMART Scholarships are offered internships and opportunities to pursue civilian careers in the federal government.
