NUWC Division, Keyport undersea warfare expert receives National Defense Industry Association Bronze Medal

Allen Couture, deputy division head of Fleet Warfighting Readiness and Operations at the NUWC Division, Keyport Pacific Detachment in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was awarded the National Defense Industrial Association Bronze Medal Award for Technical Achievement in Undersea Warfare.

Lisa Franchetti and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy James Honea experience the Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Team Delivery Vehicle (SDV) firsthand during their tour of Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, Oct. 24. In 1964, Panama City’s laboratory developed the first two-man SEAL Swimmer Delivery Vehicle systems and, today, the laboratory continues to produce a series of SDVs that are used worldwide by the special operations forces. U.S. Navy EOD develops IED exploitation capabilities with NATO allies and partners at Northern Challenge 2024

U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 8 conduct clearance and disposal operations of improvised explosive devices during Northern Challenge 2024 in Keflavik, Iceland, Sept. 29, 2024. Northern Challenge is an annual, joint-funded multinational EOD exercise hosted by the Icelandic Coast Guard aimed at preparing NATO Allies and NATO’s Partnership for Peace partners for international deployments and defense against terrorism.
