Team Submarine

Team Submarine is a combination of Program Executive Office (PEO) Strategic Submarine (PEO SSBN), PEO Attack Submarines (PEO SSN), and PEO Undersea Warfare Systems (PEO UWS) and the Direct Reporting Program Office, AUKUS Integration & Acquisition Office (AUKUS). The Team Submarine concept divides the single submarine-centric organization into specific PEOs with the goal of enhancing the structures and processes in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides exceptional communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.

Team Submarine's PEOs

• Program Executive Office, Strategic Submarines: PEO SSBN, Strategic Submarines, enables proactive and focused management for strategic deterrence, sustainment, and infrastructure. PEO SSBN is NAVSEA affiliated, and responds to the Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command.
• Program Executive Office, Attack Submarines: PEO SSN manages Attack Submarine platform acquisition, development, and sustainment. Program offices executing design, development, acquisition, and delivery are aligned in one branch under the new construction SSNs Executive Director. In-service submarine program offices and Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP) are aligned under the In-Service Executive Director, ensuring consolidated focus on improving submarine sustainment and maintenance availability.
• Program Executive Office, Undersea Warfare Systems: PEO UWS, Undersea Warfare Systems, enables the delivery of enhanced combat capability, with improved cybersecurity and resiliency, to all submarine platforms. UWS positions Team Submarine to ensure undersea sensors and warfare systems in support of Distributed Maritime Operations. PEO UWS includes the undersea domain program integration office for Project Overmatch and organizes these programs, projects, and efforts to directly support DRPM Overmatch. All Team Subs Participating Resource Managers (PARM) program offices are aligned under PEO UWS. The offices are responsible for submarine training; submarine logistics; and the submarine safety.

• AUKUS Direct Reporting Program Office, and Integration & Acquisition Office: The Australia, United Kingdom, and United States (AUKUS) partnership is a strategic endeavor that strengthens the three nation’s national security and promotes peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.  The AUKUS Integration and Acquisition (I&A) Program Office is responsible for executing the “Optimal Pathway” announced by the three nations’ leaders to deliver conventionally-armed, nuclear powered attack submarines (SSNs) to the Royal Australian Navy at the earliest possible date while setting the highest nuclear stewardship standards.
