CRANE, Ind. - Two Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) employees have recently been elected to serve on the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) for Technology Transfer Midwest Regional Committee.
NSWC Crane Office of Research and Technology Applications (ORTA) and Technology Transfer (T2) Program Manager and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Manager Brooke Pyne has been elected to serve as the committee’s regional coordinator and NSWC Crane Agreements Administrator and ORTA Agreements Administrator Jenna Dix has been elected to serve as the committee’s deputy regional coordinator.
As regional coordinator, Pyne’s goals are to foster T2 activities within the Midwest FLC Region with academic, industrial and commercial partners to communicate the innovation and technologies developed in federal laboratories throughout the region. Additionally, Pyne aspires to further expand the connections and relationships between the Midwest regional labs and government scientists, as well as to explore the collaboration between the T2 and SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
As deputy regional coordinator, Dix’s goals are to assist the regional coordinator in accomplishing her goals for the FLC Midwest Region as well as act as an engaged partner in helping to achieve those goals. She also aspires to assist in enhancing the critical relationships of laboratory staff across the region and work to further the collaboration across the laboratories. Additionally, she will work to assist the T2 staff across the Midwest region in achieving their T2 goals through establishing and enhancing connections with academic and industry partners, as well as communicating the technologies and innovation developed at the laboratories to potential partners throughout the region.
FLC is the nationwide network of federal laboratories that provides the forum to develop strategies and opportunities for linking laboratory mission technologies and expertise with the marketplace.
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane (NSWC Crane) is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The warfare center is responsible for multi-domain, multi-spectral and full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability to today’s warfighter.
