NSWC Crane hosted United States Congressman Doug Lamborn, from Colorado’s 5th District, on March 15, 2023. Rep. Lamborn is the Chairman of the Strategic Forces subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) and was accompanied by professional staff members of the HASC on the visit as well as representatives from Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS).
The purpose of the visit was for the Chairman to experience NSWC Crane’s contributions to ensuring national security in key technology areas, including technologies in NSWC Crane’s Strategic Mission Area such as nuclear modernization and conventional hypersonics.
“It was great to show Congressman Lamborn firsthand how NSWC Crane is providing national defense in key strategic technology areas,” says Dr. Angela Lewis, SES, the Technical Director at NSWC Crane. “In an era rapidly advancing technologies from our potential strategic competitors, it is critical to show the state-of-the-art capabilities NSWC Crane provides for America’s safety.”
The Strategic Forces Subcommittee oversees the United States’ policy related to strategic deterrence and strategic stability. . The Strategic Forces Subcommittee’s mission is to ensure the nation is prepared for any conventional missile or nuclear attacks.
